Our Belief
We believe the role of management is to guide, plan, organize, advise and/or represent the artist in matters affecting their career. The manager is usually the only other person besides the artist who sees the big picture.
Every artist has different goals… some just want to play live so they can gain experience, others are seasoned vets who want the support to take them a notch above. We formulate a plan based on the artist or band…not on what we think is right for them. It is a partnership….a relationship based on belief in each other.
Many Indie artists are insistent on managing themselves, to which there may be perceived advantages. In reality, there are so many decisions to be made and work that has to get done…It does take away energy that the artist needs to be putting towards their music.
What makes good management?
- Someone you can trust for good sound honest advice.
- Someone with vision and a plan to get you there
- Someone that is good at planning and organizing.
- Someone who is able to keep you grounded in reality.
- Someone who will represent you in a professional manner to others.
Success in this business takes a ton of work by an entire TEAM. From the artist to the roadies and everybody in between (record label, booking agent, legal, accounting, merchandising, publicist, tour manager, etc…). In the beginning of a career, your manager will sometimes take on some of these responsibilities, but it shouldn’t be on their backs alone.
